Most widely recognized as Rusted Root bass player, Patrick Norman has enjoyed much success as a founding member of the Pittsburgh-based phenomenon band. The group burst onto the national scene in the mid-90’s, with their infectious unique blend of world-beat influenced pop rock, that led to sales of over 3 million albums. Over the bands sixteen year history Patrick has toured the country with many acts as The Grateful Dead, Page and Plant, Santana, Dave Matthews Band, Sting, Sheryl Crow, Jewel, and the Allman Brothers to name a few, and they remain a valid touring presence to this day. Now Patrick Norman has successfully stepped out of his parent band’s shadow with his first solo studio release “Digital World”. This collection of songs will not only impress Rusted Root fans, but bring in new respect as well.
Digital World is a confident blend of styles that mesh Norman’s world beat “roots” with rock, soul, jazz, and techno beats & flourishes. Each song has a different feel and subject manner but each tells a different part of the album’s concept.
